Individual and group welcome:
Level -2 by the large stairs of the modern part of the museum.

Disabled Acces :
The museum is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
Entrance to the garden via the 164, avenue des Arènes gate or the boulevard de Cimiez gate, then entrance to the museum via the south square of the villa, overlooking the archaeological site.

Opening times

Museum open daily except on Tuesdays:

  • From 10 am to 5 pm from November 1st to April 30th
  • From 10 am to 6 pm from May 2nd to October 31st

Ticket office closes 30 minutes before.

Closed on January 1st, Easter Sunday, May 1st and December 25th

Museum Ticket

Musée de Nice Pass

The pass is free for anyone living in Nice and the towns in the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur area. It gives free access to all the city’s museums and galleries (metropolitan children and young people under the age of 18 are admitted free of charge to museums and galleries without having to show proof of a Pass).

Obtaining the Pass on presentation of a valid identity document and proof of residence less than 3 months old. Valid for 3 years from its creation.

Visiting conditions

  • The museum’s cloakroom is free and is located at the reception desk. Backpacks and umbrellas must be left in the cloakroom before your visit.
  • To ensure the safety of our visitors, the museum is strictly applying the security measures decided by the French authorities. Suitcases, travel bags and backpacks are not allowed in the museum, and cannot be left in the cloakroom.
  • A visual check of handbags can be carried out by a security guard.
  • Photography for personal use is allowed in the museum, but the use of flash is prohibited for reasons of conservation of the works.
  • No work by Matisse is free of rights: any commercial distribution and any editorial use is subject to conditions and prior authorisation.
