Patrons and partners support the museum to help with its development. They support the establishment in its exhibition programming, publications and mediation activities, as well as restoring its works and improving its museography.
Patrons
While the New Association of Friends of the Matisse Museum in Nice is an established philanthropic base which individuals can access, a circle of business patrons has gradually formed around the museum, offering effective, useful support in carrying out the various missions which drive the museum, such as the preservation and promotion of its collection or the production of museum exhibitions and editions.
To develop and diversify its resources, the Matisse Museum invites you to support it in carrying out its projects.
This opportunity will help reflect the history and culture of your company, its values and societal commitments, around a large-scale project which your employees and customers can get involved with.
By becoming a patron of the Matisse Museum:
- you will enjoy greater visibility among a wide audience. The museum is an establishment with international reach, an essential cultural player in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, and a leading cultural operator;
- you will enhance the image of your company by integrating ambitious communication plans developed around exhibitions which allow the museum and its partners to have a lasting place in the French and European media landscape, as demonstrated by numerous spin-offs;

- 2022, Hôtel Beau Rivage
A hundred years ago, in December 1917, Matisse discovered Nice for the first time. It was here that he produced the majority of his work until his death in November 1954. Arriving in Nice on 25 December 1917, Matisse rented a room at the Hôtel Beau Rivage, with its mundane decoration but with a large window opening onto the sea; here, he painted his first “Nice interiors”. Thanks to the commitment of the Hôtel Beau Rivage, the Matisse Museum offers its guests, artists, researchers and museum professionals a special welcome.

- 2022, ERCO
As part of the reinstallation of the work Fleurs et fruits in a new showcase, ERCO has contributed to the free management of part of the new lighting system and its installation. The showcase now benefits from specific high-end lighting without compromising between the visual experience and protecting the work. A light scenario has been set up, helping recreate the “resonance” of the mobile cut-outs, pinned to the walls of Matisse’s studio. As a result, Fleurs et fruits has rediscovered its special relationship with its audience.

- 2022, Boulevard Group
The publication of the special Beaux Arts magazine dedicated to the Matisse Museum in Nice was made possible thanks to the generosity of Cimiez Boulevard and its founding President Jean-Laurent Lepeu who, over the years, has become an ambassador for our institution, for which we warmly thank him.
This special issue, carefully prepared by the museum teams, provides an easy overview of the history of our institution, the richness of its collections and daily fundraising missions for managing its exceptional municipal heritage.

- 2023, SNCF / TER\ZOU!
Visitors with a valid TER ticket of the day to Nice will benefit from an exceptional reduction of €2 at the entrance to the Matisse Museum.

- 2023, William Haines Designs
Fleurs et fruits, a monumental cut-out created by Henri Matisse in 1952, was part of a commission by Frances and Sidney Brody to decorate the patio of their Los Angeles villa, designed by Archibald Quincy Jones and William Billy Haines, one of the pinnacles of Modernist design on the West Coast. Henri Matisse’s composition Fleurs et fruits was created by the artist to fit in with the overall architecture of the house and patio, for which William Haines also designed the furniture, including the “Malibu” line. As part of the restoration of Fleurs et fruits and its installation in a new museography, William Haines Designs has collaborated in an exceptional way with the Musée Matisse to make possible the presentation of this furniture, once again bringing together Henri Matisse and William Haines.
