Thanks to an exceptional partnership with the Yomiuri Shimbun (Japan), the large cut-out Fleurs et fruits was restored in the summer 2021 at the Musée Matisse Nice.
The public was able to discover in situ, thanks to an original scenographic display, the restoration as well as the history of the work, from its creation in Matisse’s workshop at Le Régina to its arrival at the museum. This unusual project is also an opportunity to re-examine the work in depth and, more generally, the cut-out technique.
A rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Henri Matisse’s work and to discover what goes on behind the scenes of a fascinating profession.
